Currently in rehab we have Oscar, a 6 year old black cockapoo, who has suffered from a cough since we rescued him. We rescued him from a lady who was keeping him and Flash in a dog cage on her patio 24/7 all through winter. It was no wonder he had a cough.
The cough started as pneumonia and then changed to another type of pneumonia that is harder to clear up. Poor little guy has been on antibiotics of some kind for over two months. Most recently the vet has done a bronchoscopy to attempt to find out why his lungs are not clearing with the medications. 8/8/14 Update. Poor Oscar still has a cough. Even though they identified the bacteria with the brochoscopy he still suffers from a cough.
